Yellow House Police Auction
Cease and Assist
On April 30th of 2008, we are holding our first fundraiser event at the Firehouse Theatre. The event is an effort to expand the base of people served by Yellow House by getting a computer that would allow us to offer classes to kids who could benefit from hands on experience with art and making films. We have an abundance of film making equipment but don’t have a computer to edit the work with. The goal is to teach kids how to produce a film and give them the opportunity to get their work projected on the big screen.
We hope to raise $2,500 at this fundraiser to make this opportunity a reality.
To do that, We've organized the “Yellow House Police Auction” which will turn the Firehouse Theatre into a jail house! The show starts at 7:00pm and features bands Special Ed and The Shortbus, Dick Butt Kiss and the Tightends, Squadron Task Force, Tyger and the Lamb, DJ Reinhold, comedy acts Cousin Sheckie and The Beau Ensemble, and a tap dance routine by Herschel Stratego and Heather Bailey. In addition to the entertainment, there will be art work by Richmond painters, printmakers, and photographers hanging on the jail house walls. All to be complimented by a live auction where Yellow House will offer up “Stolen Goods” and “Evidence” including a hand made stand-up arcade system and gifts from all across Richmond.
Tickets to the “Yellow House Police Auction” can be purchased in advance for $8 or for $10 at the door. Get ready to bid big, but make sure you don’t get BUSTED!
